GENDER PARTICULARITY OF POPULATION’S EMPOYMENT

IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS: SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS

The goal of research is to highlight gender particularity of population’s empoyment in the Republic of Belarus and to work out the scientifically-practical recommendations to improve the social mechanisms for raising its efficiency.

The methodological basis and methods of research were made up of the theory of social construction of gender (E.A. Zdravomyslova, A.A. Tsemkina), conception of the social mechanism of regulation of economic relations (G.N. Sokolova), conceptual model of relation to work (V.A. Yadov); methodology of statistical investigation, questionnaire and analysis of documents.

The obtained results: the gender particularity of population’s empoyment in the Republic of Belarus was investigated, the typology of work behavior’s strategies was worked out, the scientifically-practical recommendations to improve the social mechanisms for raising efficiency of employment were worked out.

Scientific novelty lies in working out the conception of sociological investigation of gender specification of labor, determining the concept “social efficiency of employment” and working out the empirical criterions for its evaluating, investigating the gender particularity of transformation the economic behavior to work behavior.

Recommendations for using the obtained results: the obtained results may be used by state bodies in forming gender policy in employment; by statistic bodies and scientific research centers while perfecting the methodology and investigation of gender structure of labor; by public organizations in realizing gender projects; by personel department of enterprises and organizations for regulation of working behavior with regard to the significance of a gender factor.

Area of using the obtained results: economic sociology (applied level), sociology of work (applied level), gender sociology (theoretic and applied levels), working out of state programs and plans to reach the gender equality.
